What's the difference between CMSW and LCSW?

CMSW is a certification for social work practice (case management, advocacy). LCSW is a TITLE used when you hold both CMSW and LMHP simultaneously. LCSW is not a separate license in Nebraska.

How long does it take?

Approximately 5-7 years total: 2 years MSW + 2-3 years for 3,000 supervised hours. CMSW can be earned immediately after MSW; LMHP/LIMHP requires the full hour commitment.

Do I renew them separately?

No. Single $155 renewal fee covers both CMSW and LMHP/LIMHP. Both expire September 1 of even-numbered years.
